Print culture changed dramatically in the 1990’s. A big portion of this was because of the tape. Books were recorded onto tapes, and people could listen to them in the car. Another reason for this was because the tape became cheaper, and more people could afford it. E-books also changed print culture. One could simply download a book onto an electrical devise – say a computer – and then transfer it into an e-book. This allowed the reader to carry bore “books” with out all the weight, or the space they would have taken up before. News papers and magazines decided to use this also, which is one reason why the internet is so popular today.
